Jelena Bogdanovic Peric is 30 years old and lives with her familiy in Aleksinac. She decided to become a nursery-governess and 9 years ago successfully finished the Pedagogy College in Aleksinac. Upon finishing 1 year of her traineeship in the Institution for pre-school training and education “Lane” and work with children, she had to spend next 5 – 6 years working in commercial companies in Aleksinac. In the meantime she gave birth to a daughter and a son, and considering her husband jobless, the situation she found herself in with her family was a very difficult and uncertain.
Besides all that Jelena couldn’t forget her profession and her love for children. She found strength inside herself and decided to establish a first private kindergarten in Aleksinac.
Exactly at that point, German humanitarian organization HELP has started the realization of the project within the territory of Aleksinac municipality. Jelena has become HELP’s beneficiary and received donation amounting 1200 eur in material input, equipment for the kindergarten. She registered her income generation activity and commenced working on November 2005. In leased premises, she made necessary readjustment and adaptation for the lodging of children. A real small heaven for Aleksinac’ children, is a “Jungle”where except for daily boarding they can make birthday parties and arrange various interesting performances.
Jelena is a real proof that it is actually possible to do what you like and be successful and satisfied at the same time.
