During September, HELP organized a series of workshops towards strengthening municipal capacities according to EU standards within the project "Supporting the National Strategy for Resolving the Problems of Refugees and IDPs through Support for Individual Living and Livelihood Enhancement", funded by the EU, and managed by the European Agency for Reconstruction. Workshops were designed for designated municipal officers in municipalities of Obenovac and Petrovac na Mlavi with an aim to cover basics on EC development assistance. Main topics covered by workshops were Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, Investments in Serbia, Project cycle management, Contract procedures for EC external actions and case study of the project implemented by HELP in abovementioned municipalities. The main aim of the workshops is to address the low level of knowledge on EC development assistance at local level and development opportunities of local governments within EC external actions, to facilitate coordination of local development priorities and EC development priorities and application and implementation of local development projects financed from EU funds or available credit lines.
European Movement in Serbia delivered the workshop on EU programmes and credit lines by European financial institutions opened for Serbia.
